With it's variety of approaches, CBT and psychotherapy can be seen to involve some or all of the following:
Emotional support
Uncovering unconscious conflicts
Increase insight
Correcting unrealistic thinking
Improving problem-solving skills
Improving communication skills
Releasing old patterns of behaviour
Emotional Catharsis
The Ultimate goal, remains the same - to help the client to work through his or her issues, and reduce the possibility of the symptoms recurring in the future.
What is addressed first in all scenarios is any anxiety and stress at the very beginning of a session. Breath work and grounding techniques are generally used with the guidance of the therapist.
So that is why I am offering my 40 minute Anxiety and Stress relief programme. These are available over the phone or digitally online. Quick, accessible and affordable. You can do these daily/weekly/monthly or as and when you feel you need that extra support and guide to safely return you back to yourself.
Grounding helps us to maintain the awareness that we are still in a physical body and in the 'here and now' to exit that 'fight or flight' response.
